Tanahun, January 16th 2017 : The Sixth Tanahun Festival catered to the needs of as many as 389,000 visitors with economic transaction hitting a staggering Rs 35.5 million, organizers said.
On Sunday, the last day of the festival, visitors were counted at 45,000 for a single day while business transaction was recorded at Rs 5.5 million, Festival Publicity Coordinator, Hari Bahadur Thapa said.
Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Shankar Bhandari attended the closing ceremony and said the festival would contribute towards socio-economic and cultural development. “Such fairs and festivals help in promoting local products and tourism,” he added.
