Syangja, October 13th 2016 : A 6-year-old local child who was being swept away in the Kali Gandaki river at Kedalighat in Sakhar-8 in Syangja district on Wednesday was rescued within a while.<\/p>\n
Basudev Ghimire, who went out into the Kali Gandaki river together with his mother to bathe, was swept away by the waves some 700 metres downstream.
\nWhile the helpless mother Kamala Ghimire kept wailing and screaming for the help, a local good samaritan Resham Pokharel, by dint of his solo effort, eventually managed to pull the child from the river.<\/p>\n
“The child was unconscious as he was carried away by the river,” said Resham.
\nThe mother-son duo have been staying in an elderly house in the locality.
